Nativity House Update: Feast of the Nativity

As I sit and reflect on the readings from the fourth Sunday in Advent, particularly the story of Mary's visit to Elizabeth, I am reminded of a time five years ago. I spent much time in the car driving back and forth to a new school for Gracie. On these drives I prayed many Rosaries. I always found particular hope and solace in the Joyful Mysteries.  It was while mediating on these mysteries of God's love that the vision of Nativity House came to be.

I paid particular attention to the fruit of each mystery. The fruit of the mystery of the Annunciation- Humility; The Visitation - Love of Neighbor; The Nativity - Poverty; The Presentation - Obedience; Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple - Joy at discovering Jesus.

Here we are today - in the final week before the celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of our Lord, Jesus - in the first year of Nativity House welcoming guests.

Each of us here at Nativity House hold this feast close to us in the work  of welcoming guest moms and their precious babies into our hearts and home.
